Perming is a very delicate operation that involves the appliance of strong chemicals. It may seriously affect hair condition and health. That is why many women prefer to put all the responsibility onto professional hair dressers’ shoulders.

There are several convincing advantages of having your hair permed in a salon. Your hair is examined and analyzed first to define whether it is possible to have a perm. For perming hair should be in a healthy condition. If your hair is colored, over -processed or simply is out of condition, hair stylist might recommend you not to perm it.

Professional perm also provides you a great choice in the type of curl. Different types of lotion, as well as various wending techniques give you a whole range of curles. Such a choice is definitely not available if you choose a home perm.

Different types of perm are also provided by professional hair dressers.

Acid perms have a soft acidic action which reduces the risk of hair damage. It produces flexible curls.

If you would like to have strong and firm curls, and your hair type is normal, you might want to choose alkaline perm.

Bouncy and resilient curls are produced by exothermic perm. The peculiarity of this perm type if in the gentle heat that is produced due to the chemical reaction. The heat ensures that the lotion gets inside the hair cuticle and strengthens the hair from inside.

All these types of perm can be used with different techniques. For example, body perm, that is very soft. Root perm lifts the root area and it gives fullness and volume to short, flat hair. Spiral perm gives a romantic look and makes long hair seem much thicker. Stack perm provides volume by using different sized curlers. Weave perms are used to give the mixture of curls and natural looking straight hair. Such an affect is obtained by perming certain sections of hair and leaving the rest of it in its natural way.

In spite of all the advantages, you might want to get your hair permed at home. In this case it is vitally important for you to carefully follow all the instructions supplied with the product. It is necessary to do a test curl for you to make sure your hair is ready to perming. Do not forget to check if you get enough curlers as well. By the way, chances are that you will need some help and assistance. It is impossible to curl the back sections of your hair in a proper way. That is the reason you might want to ask your friend or relative join you in this procedure.

Time is one of the critical factors in perming. So never leave the lotion on your hair longer than it is allowed. You will not get the desired result if you remove the lotion before the time directed by the producer.

Every girl dreams of being a princess. And there is a day in our life when this dream could come true – the wedding. This is a very important date when a woman and a man enter their new life. And every woman wants to be a princess in this new life. Being a princess means looking as a princess.

It is widely known among the professionals that the hair style is nearly the most important accord in your wedding image symphony. And it is not an easy task to find the right hair style to brighten your eyes and to make your dress look even more beautiful. It is not an easy one, but it is not impossible too.

Choosing the type of hair style depends on many factors. It is obvious that the choice is connected to personal preferences and habits. Aside from that there are time factors. Your hair style should be different whether your wedding starts early in the day, or whether it is an evening one. It is also important to take into account if you are going to spent most of the ceremony inside or out of doors. Are you going to wear a headpiece – is another question that matters.

Generally speaking, your hair style depends on the style of the whole wedding. Formal wedding is associated with more formal and classical hair styles. And if you are going to have a casual wedding, you could do something unusual with your hair.

Wearing your hair up is a good choice for any wedding style. Up hair styles create elegant and even sophisticated appearances. So it is the best choice for formal, black and white events. More than that, an up style is a must in some social circles.

But even if you are not marrying the guy from Rockefeller family, an up style could be a good choice. If you have decided to celebrate your wedding on the beach and to treat your guests with home-made cookies, an up style could bring a sense of style to your wedding event.

A half up style is getting more and more popular. It softens the elegance of an up style, and makes the general appearance more natural and feminine. Although the half up style has been more often used for daytime wedding, it is a good choice for night weddings as well. An interesting tip about this style is that it is usually preferred by guys, if they are allowed to participate in making the decision.

A down hair style is nearly the most popular lately. But it may give you some problems if you plan to have an outside wedding. Wearing your hair down usually looks good with most of headpieces. Thus, you should think twice before you choose it because of all the difficulties of keeping your hear fresh and knit.

Whatever you choose, you should feel comfortable with that style. That is the only way you could check whether it is perfect for you or not.

Looks really matter. That is why cute hairstyles can help a lot to “enhance” your image.

Tips on Hair Extensions

Wednesday, October 28th, 2009
Rachel Broune recently asked:

Hair extensions can be attached in several ways. The hair can be braided across the head and then extensions are sewn onto the braids. Extensions can be glued or clamped to sections of hair. Clip on extensions can be applied by the client, removed and reused. Extensions make hair look longer and thicker. I would go with the clamp on version if I wanted permanent extensions.

Hair extensions can be a lot of fun if you are aware of the risks and the procedures. When you get hair extensions make sure that you use a gentle shampoo and also that you condition your hair properly. Your hair dresser will give you more details. There are new hair extensions available, the clip on ones, a couple of my friends have them and they look really class!! just pop down to the nearest hair dressers and ask if they sell them or know where you can but some.

Try the clip in hair extentions, theyre called that but dont actually clip in, what it is, it’s a layer of hair stuck on with glue with little staples, sounds wierd but actually are comfortable, they last about 2 months these are also re-useable if you look after them well. Also you can put in as much layers you want. Take the extensions to a salon and let the stylist put them in. Should be cheaper than the stylist actually doing individual extensions ( as opposed to a clip on piece). Pay attention to how the stylist adds them in and then duplicate this yourself.

Clip-In Extensions – They work great if you don’t want anything permanent. Braiding paste can help keep the clip from slipping out. Be careful with long-term use in the same areas, as users have been known to experience hair loss.

Hairlocs – This system utilizes small metal tubes that has been pre-tipped with an adhesive. It is very similar if not almost identical to Eurolocs. Once the metal tube is threaded onto your own hair, a lock of pre-tipped hair is inserted into the tube and then it was clamped, so to speak, thereby adhering the extension hair to your own without the use of hot or cold adhesive.

It’s important to use the right products otherwise the hair may fall out or be unmanagable. Some hair extensions are noticable but nowerdays depending on where you get them done can look really natural. You don’t know until you’ve tried them, but it’s worth going to professionals as they can go wrong, well not nessecarily wrong but maybe not natural looking or the hair quality isn’t of high standards.

Jessica Simpson has a hair extension at target that just clip in and you can get them for like 13 or 14 dollars. They have all diff rent colors that match your hair color.

Well for hair extentions it depends on how long your hair is and if you do get some make sure it’s your color and 100% human hair it will look much better than anything else but it”s kinda pricey some cost like 22-up you can get it anywhere.

It is a well known fact that hair extensions can do damage to your natural hair. The glue that is attached to your natural hair can burn and split the ends of your hair. This means that you will almost always be required to have the ends of your hair cut after the extensions are removed.

Different Methods of Tattooing

Monday, October 26th, 2009

From primitive tools to the modern machines; tattoos have been applied for thousands of years. The practice is believed to have originated in ancient Egypt, where evidence supports that the highest pharaohs were inked. With the evolution of society and modern technology all kinds of gadgets found there way in to the lives of men. The development of tools and machinery changed the way we work play and even decorate out bodies. Different cultures have used various instruments and methods.

The people of the Polynesian islands are traditionally heavily tattooed, using the designs to signify things like sexual maturity, genealogy and social status. Generally, the more tattoos a person had, the more respect they had from their peers, thus the higher their position in the community. A man with no tattoos was virtually ignored.

They did, and still often do use a handmade tool that involves carving and sharpening many needles out of tortoise shell, or some kind of animal bone. The blunt end of the needles was inserted and bound into a stick. The end result looks similar to a very sharp hair comb. The needles were then dipped into the ink, pressed against the flesh and the comb was tapped into the skin with a mallet-like tool. The ink was a concoction of soot diluted with water or oil so that it’s easier to work with. For more please visit hair removal jacksonville

For years the Japanese only used tattoos as a way to mark criminals so that society would know what crimes the wearer had committed. The Yakuza, the Japanese mafia, traditionally encouraged the used of tattooing to promoted unity in their ranks and test the strength and endurance of a man. As with other cultures, the more tattoos a mobster has, the more respect he is given. In recent years, the current generation of Yakuza has opted for simpler, less conspicuous tattoos so they would be harder to identify.

Today in Japan, tattooing is accepted to much the same extent it is in the United States. It has developed into quite an exquisite art form, revered and studies by tattoo artist all over the world. To this day, the process is preformed in very much the same method the Polynesians used, only they use a single sharp object rather than many fastened together. For more please visit skin care jacksonville

Some tribal cultures required that people be tattooed by a certain age or before they are allowed to participate in certain rites, like marriage. A marriage tattoo often signifies the wearer’s commitment to their intended spouse. In some of these cultures, the entire design of the tattoo is painted on all at one time. The ink is then tapped into the skin, by hand, with a sharpened thorn.

Some cultures created tattoos by cutting designs into the flesh of a person and then rubbing the wounds with a pigment of some kind. The pigmenting agents would get into the skin and remain there long after the cuts had healed. Inks made from plants and flowers or ashes mixed with water were commonly used. Because the cuts tended to be larger and deeper than the needle pokes associated with most body art, they were very easily infected. This practice may have evolved into what we now call scarification.

Today, in modern civilizations, tattooing is preformed with an electric tattoo machine, or gun, which uses groups of needles inside metal tubes to place ink under the skin. The machine repeatedly drives the needles in and out of the skin, between 80 and 150 times a second. Thanks to this modern technology, this process is faster and much less painful than what out inked forefathers had to endure. For more please visit botox jacksonville

Learn About Hair Extensions

Monday, October 26th, 2009
Luna Mohanty recently asked:

Have you ever seen a celebrity on television with long, thick, amazing hair? You’ve tried every shampoo and conditioner and your hair never looks that good. There’s a reason their hair looks so great. The reality is that they have hair extensions. Hair extensions used to be just for rich and famous women, but now you can visit a hair extension salon and have them too. They are made from either human hair or synthetic hair. Some people choose synthetic hair because it is much lower in price than human hair. Synthetic hair is also available in a wide variety of colors, even some fun choices like pastel or neon.

Hair extensions should only be done by a professional hair extension salon. Choose a salon that is known for the service and has many years experience in this procedure. There are several ways that hair extensions can be attached to your natural hair. One way is to attach the hair in a strand-by-strand method. The strand-by-strand method can last for up to 6 months. A very small area of attachment is placed close to your head and the real human hair is blended to the natural color of your hair. Other methods include natural bonding, sew-in technique and net weaves. This application should look completely natural and mix in with your own hair. The extensions should move and look like your own beautiful hair.

In addition to choosing the color and length of your hair extensions you should discuss the texture of your new hair with your stylist. There are many textures of hair extensions. They vary from stick straight to very ***** or curly. You should learn the different names that are used describe the textures available of extension hair. Yaki hair is very straight and resembles the straightness of typical Asian hair. European straight hair is not quite as straight as Asian hair and may have a bit of a wave. The hair extensions described as deep wave can be styled in fun spirals. Romance wave can be used to create a romantic and soft head full of curls. Finally, Spanish or Indian wave describes the sort of soft and natural looking curls that will turn very curly when wet.

Caring for hair extensions is something that you should discuss with your stylist in San Diego. Shampooing hair extensions is as simple as shampooing your natural hair. Most hair extension manufacturers suggest a very mild and buffering shampoo or you might even consider ordering a shampoo made just for wigs. Most extensions made from human hair can be treated in every way as your own real hair. It takes a considerable amount of processing to make human hair extensions consistently have an even color and a smooth texture, so a mild shampoo is a good idea. Reduce tangles and keep mats at a minimum with a light hair conditioner. Keep the water cool when you shampoo your hair extensions. This too will help keep tangles and mats from becoming a problem. Pulling with a brush or comb to remove tangles and snarls will loosen your hair extensions and undo all the beautiful work done by your salon.

Breast Chemotherapy is a Great Medicine for Breast Cancer

Tuesday, October 20th, 2009

Breast chemotherapy refers to the treatment applied to patients who suffer from breast cancer. Its purpose is to kill or to reduce in size the tumor consisting of cells that multiply very quickly compared to the normal rate of multiplication of normal cells. Breast chemotherapy can be of very many kinds depending on the combination of drugs that the doctor has selected for you. That is why it is highly important that patients and their family ask for clarifications from their doctors in case they haven’t understood how it all works and that they also know what side effects may be expected as a result of the medication.

There are two ways of administering breast chemotherapy: orally in cycles established by the doctor or intravenously. The drug reaches in the blood and then travels through the entire body to locate and attack the sick cells meant to be destroyed. Even though breast chemotherapy is directed at breast cancer, the drugs that are recommended as treatment may act on whatever other unhealthy cells that may have already developed somewhere else than the breast. From this perspective doctors call breast chemotherapy a systemic treatment precisely because its effects are extended to the entire body structure.

Breast chemotherapy may be recommended after mastectomy or lumpectomy and in this case it is known as adjuvant treatment. The treatment is possible in this form only when medical tests indicate that the cancer is limited to the breast area only.

Another case when breast chemotherapy becomes necessary is when cancer has spread from the lymph nodes or breast to other parts of the body. This particular cancer invasion bears the name of metastatic breast cancer and women rarely have this form at the time of the diagnosis.

Whichever of the breast chemotherapy treatments you are to receive it is important to know how you can figure out if it has any effect. This does not mean however that it is mandatory for you to experience side effects or otherwise your treatment is inefficient. Such an investigation approach is totally incorrect. Adjuvant breast chemotherapy may have no side effects but it has always proved to be very helpful as it impedes unhealthy cells from spreading or redeveloping in your body.

All in all, breast chemotherapy is no easy treatment. It is probably the devastating treatment and the mutilation brought by breast cancer in itself that has increased awareness among women, making disease detection a lot easier and in the early stages of development.

This article is written by the author for helping you who are looking for information about chemotherapy. The author also still has many other articles besides this. For knowing more other articles, you can check out the latest website on wood office chairs that gives you a recommendation to buy the best lane office chairs.

Laser Hair Removal vs Electrolysis

Friday, October 16th, 2009

Laser vs Electrolysis Treatment – Which Method is for You?

Of the large choice of hair reduction therapies that are available to consumers these days, it is electrolysis removal and laser hair removal treatment that have become the most popular. In this editorial we will look in detail at these two therapies and show you a thorough comparison of electrolysis vs laser treatment.

Procedure
Electrolysis is an invasive procedure involving the insertion of a needle right into each hair root cell. The needle is then used to apply an electric current to the root cell. This involves pain and the danger of uncomfortable electric stimulus. Laser hair removal, in contrast, is a harmless and non-invasive procedure incorporating the use of laser beams. As such, there is no physical harm done to the skin at all. The lasers harmlessly pass through the skin and target the hair root cells to deactivate them.

Cost Effectiveness
The pricing structure offered by laser or electrolysis clinics is a multi-factored characteristic of both therapies depending upon:

-Session duration
-Area to be treated
-Number of sessions
-Pricing of each session

The cost of each session can be somewhat less for Laser Hair Removal Versus electrolysis hair removal but electrolysis treatment is a relatively long process requiring longer session durations and a greater number of sessions. This adds to the overall cost of the area under treatment and therefore ends up costing you much more compared to laser hair removal treatment. Long term,,Overall the Laser Hair Reduction is the less expensive option in the terms of cost effectiveness having lower overall costs and often a more pliant cost structure.

Are the Procedures Painful?
As laser hair removal treatment is a non-invasive procedure, there is no directly invasive stimulus. Electrolysis being a skin penetrating procedure initiates a painful stimulus with each hair that is treated thanks to the presence of nerves in the skin. Laser hair removal can be sore either if you have very sensitive skin or if you are unlucky enough to get a poorly trained laser clinician. On the plus side, any slight pain can be safely controlled with laser hair removal treatment pain relief. With electrolysis treatment in contrast, pain is an unavoidable feature of the procedure.

Treatment Period
The time needed to finish the process of hair reduction in electrolysis is much greater, in order to get satisfactory end results, as we’ve already seen. The main problem is in fact the large number of sessions needed to have full treatment. As an electrologist says “Electrolysis requires a series of treatments over a duration of time. It’s not just a few sessions that are needed for complete treatment.” Laser hair removal needs approximately 3 to 4 treatments for the full treatment. So electrolysis treatment is a relatively lengthy and tedious process.

How Effective is it?
One major area of contrast is the question of efficacy. Electrolysis being an established procedure has had a lot of time to prove itself in terms of efficacy. Electrolysis, in spite of 120 years of history, cannot guarantee permanent hair reduction. Laser hair removal in contrast has been seen to produce at least 30-40% permanent hair reduction of hairs after completion of treatment. Another strong point of laser hair removal treatment is that it can be used efficiently for the treatment of large areas such as the legs, chest and back.

Is it Safe?
After undergoing electrolysis one has to take care of the skin in a certain way. Research has shown that extensive skin damage can be the result if specific preventative treatment is not given to the skin. The other issue of being an invasive procedure is the skin infections. There is a low incidence of %keyword5% side effects, and hardly any after treatment care is needed. Darkening of skin, redness or scarring are short-lived effects which soon disappear.

Conclusion
In this article, the the available data gives an idea of electrolysis vs laser treatment but more intensive study and research is needed to confirm the efficacy of one procedure over the other. As we have seen, there are many factors that should be taken into consideration to confirm the superiority of one procedure over the other.

Hair Structure and Various Hair Extensions Available Today

Friday, October 16th, 2009
Diane Mead recently asked:

Hair structure and various hairs available today

Hair extensions can dramatically improve your appearance. However, before you take the plunge and go in for hair extensions it would help to understand the quality of hair extensions and what the typical structure of hair is like.

The hair structure

The hair when observed on a microscopic level is actually composed of various layers. The outer coating is known as ‘cuticle’ and comprises many long cells which overlap with one another. They align in a unidirectional manner and is the main component that keeps the moisture in the hair intact. It also guards against the weather and other elements. In fact, shiny hair is a sign of having a healthy cuticle.

How to determine an extension’s quality?

The best way to gauge the quality of a hair extension is by assessing the cuticle. Usually, prices can also be an indicator of the overall quality. The more the price of the extension the more will be the quality and vice versa. Also, if the layers of the cuticle are intact and facing the same direction it means it is a healthy cuticle and so the price of the hair extension will also be higher. Bad quality cuticles indicate interlocking cells which can cause matted and knotted hair.

Types of hair and their structure differences

The hair used in the extension industry can originate from various countries. Each ethnic race has a different hair structure. Here we discuss some of them:

European hair:

This type is very thin and has a cross section surface that looks oval. Usually this kind of hair is preferred for all hair extension purposes.

Indian hair:

This is a very high quality hair type and is highly preferred for extension manufacturing purposes. Different hair kinds are mixed and collected for this purpose. However, very rarely is the cuticle left intact (except in very expensive extensions). Usually the cuticle is removed and coated with silicon substances. The prices of these extensions are hence much lesser.

Asian hair:

Most of the time Asian hair types come from Chinese people. It is thicker when compared to the European hair varieties and has a cross section resembling a round shape. Since the hair is originally very thick it is made lighter with an acid bath.

Remi hair:

This is one of the most expensive varieties of hair extensions and uses high grade hair with cuticle cells in a unidirectional growth (the hair we supply).

Synthetic hair:

This is a man made variety of hair which looks and feels like natural hair. Since it is made with artificial materials and the outer cuticle cells are unlike natural hair merging such hair extensions with your natural hair is very tough. Usually, the aftercare is also different for such types of extensions and the prices are also cheaper
